September’s Here

Hello everyone!  How are you guys doing? For everyone in USA I hope you guys have a great Labor Day, my friends shared their photos in facebook , tumblr and WP, I think it was a lot of fun.

So what’s up and about this September?

A lot of things guys, in fact I don’t know where to start… I am so excited about so many things 😀

I guess we could start with a tradition, my mom will start playing Christmas songs the 1st day of September, every year…she loves Christmas ( so am I ), and for most Pinoys once the “ber”  months (September to December)  is in, it’s gonna be the start of Christmas Celebration – an almost 4 months celebration.

Weird? Yeah, as what the Dept of Tourism says “It’s more fun in the Philippines” :D. Some TV shows started the Christmas Countdown, they showed some places where you can buy gifts that are really really cute and at the same time within your budget. I wanted to have a huge Santa Claus – I love Santa Claus, as a kid I used to wish that he would come one night and give me a gift – but then I realized we don’t have chimney :D, but still that realization didn’t stop me from believing in him. I think I’m just gonna buy a medium size Santa Claus, like half of my height.

A new member of the family is coming and I am so excited to see her, I’d rather not elaborate on this one for the mean time, let’s all wait until she’s here.

I started a healthy revolution during the last 2 weeks of August.

I have been thinking on how to live a healthy life. I love sweets, I mean I can’t live a day without eating something sweet, the bad part is I don’t work out and veggies are not my favorite. When I got my driver’s license I notice that I gained about 11kg from last year, then during Mimi’s birthday celebration, she took my picture and I noticed my bulging tummy, it doesn’t look good – hit me right on the spot that I need to work out and live a much healthier life – terribly in need!

argh with my tummy!

So I decided to stay away from sweets, reduce rice intake, eat more fruits and be friends with veggies.

I am also considering working out, I’d like to try yoga (fat burning yoga), pilates or maybe dancing (like zumba) in addition to the walkathon I do (like) everyday.

So far there’s been an improvement, I am not that enticed whenever I see chocolate, cake, ice cream/mochi creme or cotton candy. I have reduced my cravings for rice and I’ve been eating healthier foods.

I’ve read somewhere that it’s better to eat fish or chicken, avoiding deep fried foods and processed meat. While I was reading through that article ( I think it’s in netdoctor.co.uk) I was kinda sad because I love pizza and  pasta I thought that I would have to stop eating them, but then I realized that there’s need to deprive myself of eating something that would make me happy, and besides, I don’t eat pizza and pasta all the time, so I guess a little modification on that.

I don’t eat when I’m not hungry, I would eat my meal at least 2 to 3 hours before I go to sleep…

I have my mind set on that rule – live a healthy life Joyce!

When I started this “healthy revolution” I got lots of encouragement and support from my friends, specially my sweet pumpkin pie (oh btw he’s the only sweet that I will not avoid :p ), he would constantly remind me to avoid sweet foods. Last Sunday I saw the yummy macaroons from Tous Les Jours , I pointed it to him and

he said “you’re supposed to avoid sweets”

“i know, i’m not gonna buy, i will just look at it and imagine I’m eating it” – my response.

It wasn’t that bad, as I’ve said my mind is set in living a healthy life, I know I have not deprived myself by not buying macaroons at that moment, I will probably get some of it again but not now.

I need to be voluptuous again, ha ha.

So this morning, this is my breakfast.

Oats and dragon fruit.

I’ve read this about dragon fruit:

I am expecting something big by the end of September, but since it’s not yet here, I wont blog about it for now.

Thanks for checking out…so how about you guys? What’s up and about for you this month?

Time to catch up on my reading session 😀

Christmas 2011

I was sleepy on Christmas Eve, woke up like 10 or 15 minutes before 12. I saw my mom sleeping too haha.  But we all manage to stay awake and celebrate Bro’s birthday. I asked my Mum not to cook too much food and decided to make Graham Cakes for New Year.

It’s hard to really celebrate and be happy knowing that some people are struggling or sad. Well for some they thought that Christmas doesn’t mean anything anymore after typhoon Sendong wiped out almost everything they have…I just hope that they’ll be able to recuperate as soon as they can.

On the brighter side of things, I forgot to mention that my team mates bought Sansrival for my birthday, that was very sweet of them.Thank You guys! But I wasn’t able to take a picture of it since we’re not allowed to take pictures at work.

Last Thursday our team won for this month’s townhall. It’s funny though because we never thought we would win, we heard the other teams practicing and they were way better than us, they have prepared so much for the townhall, really dressed up and made huge candy canes – hey that’s 1,000 GC  additional to the team funds of course we expect everyone to be really at their “best” shot.

We just thought of singing Little Drummer Boy and 12 Days of Christmas but we asked Kenchi to change the lyrics so it can be related to our job. I can’t remember the lyrics for the Little Drummer Boy but the 12 Days of Christmas I think I can still remember because that was a very funny.

On the 12th Day of Christmas HSBC gave to me

12 Ensaymada…11 Ensalada…10 Pritong Maling…9 Piling ng Saging…8 Pancit Palabok…7 Juice and Softdinks…6 (ok,i forgot.ha ha) 5 Onion Rings…4 Pizza Pie … 3 Kwek Kwek, 2 box Chicken Joy at isang team building sa pantry 😀

That same night they gave me a birthday cake – well, it was for all the reps who celebrated their birthday this month.

Here’s a picture.

and before putting it inside the fridge.

Hihi, yeah that’s our fridge 2 rugged dolls made of wood, flyers from Yellowcab and Domino’s Pizza and I think starbuck’s too.

On Christmas Eve, thank God it was my off and my sister’s off as well.

Me and Mum set up this place the other week, she made those curtains and of course we only put them on during Christmas season, the Nativity set, our little Christmas Tree, Mum’s altar, ehem I actually thought of putting those Poinsettias  and Bell/Christmas Lights and I use paper clips to hang them, it’s hard to use push pins or thumb tacks because of the kind of wood that was used on it and I don’t want to use the staples because I will have a hard time taking them off later.  I think it was a good idea, my Mom liked it 😀 . Then of course we have Santa Claus and his assistant.

Did you ever believe in Santa Claus? I know I did and I did put a wish list outside our window when I was a kid but then eventually I realized that if he really exist he wouldn’t be here in Manila,PH. We don’t have chimneys here, haha.

The Nativity

Our Little Christmas Tree – we kinda revamped it by adding ribbons.

That wasn’t a mosquito repelling bulb, my Mum just used the box for her gift. It was a yellow chinese inspired jacket 🙂

The shirt says “I’m hot no matter what season” gift from my sister. But then my cousin Andrei asked “eh ate bakit ang lamig mo?”.

My sister Lalayne and Me.

Me beside Santa Claus

Greetings from my Family – Mum trying her very best to stay awake and smile.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas celebration. Looking forward to 2012.

Ciao guys!

It’s beginning to look like christmas

I know it is too early to feel that way but it is beginning to look like christmas, right? When you go to the local malls you’ll see Christmas trees, the colorful lights, Santa Claus, Angels, stuffs on sale for your presents, for some they have their Christmas tree up already & have fully decorated their home for the season.

This is the last quarter of 2011 and just to share something, I bought a planner at the beginning of the year and have written some of the stuff that I want to do, things that I want to have, things that I need to do to have that little sense of fulfillment or contentment,I’m proud to say that I was able to get some of  those accomplished and I’m still working to get the rest done but you know there will always be that “something” that will make you stop and think that maybe I don’t need that, maybe I need something better, maybe I don’t have to do this and just try to do something else. You get what I mean?

But anyways, since we were not able to go home to Pangasinan as it was previously planned (because of the bad weather) I decided to watch a lot of movies during my long weekend. I had a great laugh watching Kung Fu Panda, I am not that happy with Scream 5, well its supposed to be a scary movie so I shouldn’t be really happy about it, I just didn’t like the story.

Her cousin is just unbelievable, just so she can also be famous, she hurt herself, I mean nearly killed herself with everything she did and after all of that “murdering myself” scene she’s still freaking strong because she was still fighting with Sidney, I can’t believe she even killed her own mother, that is just so not cool.

Last week I think I watched Final Destination 5 which apparently is the prequel of everything, I’d say it’s ok, I mean gruesome just like the others.

Then I plan on watching “Inception” anytime soon.

But for now I’ll try to get more sleep, since Tuesday I haven’t been getting enough sleep so I feel weird aside from the fact that I have “Juan” around, I’ve read something in Cosmopolitan September’s issue. A recent study in University of PA School of Medicine says that having 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep after a very toxic week can actually catch you up on rest, making you sane again and if you remember people on Saturday(s) if I have nowhere else to go I sleep for 12 to 13 hours – straight , how come I still feel insane though? 😀 just kidding!

Maybe I should just sleep for 10 hours, what do you think?

Okay!Ciao!
