September’s Here

Hello everyone!  How are you guys doing? For everyone in USA I hope you guys have a great Labor Day, my friends shared their photos in facebook , tumblr and WP, I think it was a lot of fun.

So what’s up and about this September?

A lot of things guys, in fact I don’t know where to start… I am so excited about so many things 😀

I guess we could start with a tradition, my mom will start playing Christmas songs the 1st day of September, every year…she loves Christmas ( so am I ), and for most Pinoys once the “ber”  months (September to December)  is in, it’s gonna be the start of Christmas Celebration – an almost 4 months celebration.

Weird? Yeah, as what the Dept of Tourism says “It’s more fun in the Philippines” :D. Some TV shows started the Christmas Countdown, they showed some places where you can buy gifts that are really really cute and at the same time within your budget. I wanted to have a huge Santa Claus – I love Santa Claus, as a kid I used to wish that he would come one night and give me a gift – but then I realized we don’t have chimney :D, but still that realization didn’t stop me from believing in him. I think I’m just gonna buy a medium size Santa Claus, like half of my height.

A new member of the family is coming and I am so excited to see her, I’d rather not elaborate on this one for the mean time, let’s all wait until she’s here.

I started a healthy revolution during the last 2 weeks of August.

I have been thinking on how to live a healthy life. I love sweets, I mean I can’t live a day without eating something sweet, the bad part is I don’t work out and veggies are not my favorite. When I got my driver’s license I notice that I gained about 11kg from last year, then during Mimi’s birthday celebration, she took my picture and I noticed my bulging tummy, it doesn’t look good – hit me right on the spot that I need to work out and live a much healthier life – terribly in need!

SAM_5728

argh with my tummy!

So I decided to stay away from sweets, reduce rice intake, eat more fruits and be friends with veggies.

I am also considering working out, I’d like to try yoga (fat burning yoga), pilates or maybe dancing (like zumba) in addition to the walkathon I do (like) everyday.

So far there’s been an improvement, I am not that enticed whenever I see chocolate, cake, ice cream/mochi creme or cotton candy. I have reduced my cravings for rice and I’ve been eating healthier foods.

I’ve read somewhere that it’s better to eat fish or chicken, avoiding deep fried foods and processed meat. While I was reading through that article ( I think it’s in netdoctor.co.uk) I was kinda sad because I love pizza and  pasta I thought that I would have to stop eating them, but then I realized that there’s need to deprive myself of eating something that would make me happy, and besides, I don’t eat pizza and pasta all the time, so I guess a little modification on that.

I don’t eat when I’m not hungry, I would eat my meal at least 2 to 3 hours before I go to sleep…

I have my mind set on that rule – live a healthy life Joyce!

When I started this “healthy revolution” I got lots of encouragement and support from my friends, specially my sweet pumpkin pie (oh btw he’s the only sweet that I will not avoid :p ), he would constantly remind me to avoid sweet foods. Last Sunday I saw the yummy macaroons from Tous Les Jours , I pointed it to him and

he said “you’re supposed to avoid sweets”

“i know, i’m not gonna buy, i will just look at it and imagine I’m eating it” – my response.

It wasn’t that bad, as I’ve said my mind is set in living a healthy life, I know I have not deprived myself by not buying macaroons at that moment, I will probably get some of it again but not now.

I need to be voluptuous again, ha ha.

So this morning, this is my breakfast.

SAM_5751

Oats and dragon fruit.

I’ve read this about dragon fruit:

I am expecting something big by the end of September, but since it’s not yet here, I wont blog about it for now.

Thanks for checking out…so how about you guys? What’s up and about for you this month?

Time to catch up on my reading session 😀

Tummy Talks: Sweet Healthy Breakfast

SAM_5320

Hello everyone, so glad I have another entry for tummy talks, I have arranged my schedule that’s why I have more time to stay online and blog 😀 , just a matter of time management and keeping up with priorities.

Anyway, just sharing this pic of my breakfast. I got the idea from my friend’s recipe book (too bad wasn’t able to get my own copy, was sold out right away, I’d love to try  everything on that book).

I had some nusica (hazelnut chocolate spread , yeah just like nutella) , mum bought some bananas, had loaf bread and there you have it. YUMMM!

My absolute favorite merienda when I’m home 😀

BTW, I’ve checked some food blogs since it was featured a few days ago and I am so dying to try their recipes for snacks and dessert 😀

Thanks for checking guys!xOxO

Sweet Sundate (2)

Hello again! I think this is going to be a regular entry here in my blog 😀 but I am still working on the other “regular” entries here and more likely there will be posts wherein I will combine 2 regular entries together, like what I did on the previous one. It was somehow about tummy talks at the same time it’s about our Sweet Sundate.

So here they are.

Date : June 16, 2013

Church : Saint Jerome Emiliani (near Alabang Town Center)

We stayed outside, that was our 1st time to attend the mass together, although it wasn’t the first time I’ve been there…it was his first, so I told him he can make a wish. My mama told me (because she’s very superstitious) that if it’s your first time to attend the mass in any church you can make a wish and it’ll be granted (in God’s time of course). We have no idea about the schedule of their masses it seems like churches have different schedule but we were just right on time to hear the gospel, we decided to just stay outside since the church’s already packed with people.

I think it was really meant to be, that day it wasn’t that hot, was cloudy but there were no rains…was a little windy which is good.

♥ I know, we’re cheesy…and hey we took these photos after the Mass, not during the Mass :D. After the mass though, when there were few people inside, I decided to go in and just say my prayer…decided to stay for a while, took some photos before we head for lunch.

Me talking to Mama, the church is just “walking distance” to Alabang Town Center. I like walking from the Church to the mall, love to feel the wind and just seeing those plants…aahh, it was an awesome moment.ATC 8

Lunch: Binalot at Alabang Town Center’s Food Street. He got rice and pork sisig (which is soooooo delicious! It was so good,I felt bad for not having it on my own). I had chicken adobo with salted egg & tomato.

After our sumptuous meal,we decided to just stroll around the mall and we saw these huge vignette designs.Ayala Malls had a contest, contestants will just have to stand in front of the vignette designs, pose and send their picture, most creative pose of course will win. But we didn’t join the contest, we were not prepared, had we known I would’ve wore something white so that I can look like a real angel 😀 , but we took some photos (obviously). The wings is just right for me, unlike Jo, he needed to bend a little so he can fit in.

Then, there’s this design, like you’re attending an awards night, red carpet, flashes of lights from a camera, shadows…it was cool!

ATC Dessert

Can’t go home without having dessert, FIC is my favorite ice cream place because they have a lot of ice cream flavors plus they have my new favorite, mochiko / mochi ice cream, black sesame is my favorite!ATC 15

Nahhh, don’t get me wrong, I was excited to eat that, but I needed to wait for like 20 minutes or so before the ice cream  vendor gave it to me. Wonder why? It’s because other customers are so insensitive, they took time to decide what flavor to eat….gaaahhh! Anyways, it was a lovely day 😀
